Keynote Speaker: Wes Moore
An army combat veteran, business leader and youth advocate, Wes Moore is the author of The New York Times best seller The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates. The book chronicles the lives of two men with the same name who both grew up in Baltimore. One grew up to be a Rhodes Scholar, decorated combat veteran and White House Fellow while the other is serving a life sentence in prison for felony murder. Through his personal story, Moore advocates for education policies that can help break the cycle of school failure.
Moore graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in International Relations. He completed a master's in International Relations from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar in 2004. Moore was a paratrooper and captain in the United States Army, serving a combat tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2005–2006. A White House Fellow from 2006–2007, he served as a special assistant to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Moore is currently an investment professional in New York.
