POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of Organizational Communications will conceive and execute an integrated strategic internal communications plan in support of organizational priorities. This plan will include frequent and consistent messages to internal audiences that frame change and drive thematic connections between staff functions and overarching organization mission and values
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Manager of Organizational Communications reports to the VP of Public Affairs.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS:
- Develop an integrated strategic internal communications plan that addresses key organizational benchmarks and objectives and measurement tools to monitor progress.
- Work with Executive Staff and divisions to develop and implement effective internal communications strategies and foster the flow of information across divisions and all levels of the organization.
- Partner with Executive Staff and Division Directors to develop and summarize key messages that establishes a sight line between staff functions and strategic objectives.
- Execute a variety of oral and written communications, that support the internal communications plan.
- Collaborate in the development and execution of the Ounce of Prevention Fund intranet.
- Ensure that key internal messages mirror external messages.
- Work with divisions and workgroups to plan and coordinate internal events (e.g., Summer All-Staff meeting and Staff Recognition event).
- Monitor suggestion boxes and disseminate follow-up work accordingly. Ensure that attention and follow-through are paid to each suggestion in a timely manner.
- In collaboration with the Executive Staff, Human Resources, and Division Directors, conduct, facilitate, and analyze organization-wide staff surveys and assist in ensuring that responses to surveys are made in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Organize, plan and facilitate work of all staff engaged in Internal Communications activities
- Plan and coordinate activities that reinforce connections between all divisions.
- In conjunction with the Communications division plan, edit and write the staff newsletter.
- Assist with speech writing and coaching to ensure consistency of presentations to staff with the Ounce's mission, goals and positions.
- Conduct communication workshops for Ounce staff.
- When necessary, respond to, and/or redirect staff inquiries concerning events and organization-wide internal initiatives.
EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS:
- Minimum of a BA in Journalism, English or related field AND
- 4 years of relevant experience managing internal communications for organizations experiencing significant change (e.g expansion, merger/acquisition, leadership change, business diversification, etc.)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Must have excellent command of English language, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Must be able to travel within and between sites. Some sites may necessitate climbing stairs.
- Clearly hear and understand telephone conversations
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
