POSITION SUMMARY:
The Ounce of Prevention Fund seeks an individual with extensive Raiser's Edge expertise and experience to act as primary owner and super-user of the organization's 35,000+ member Raiser's Edge database. While deep Raiser's Edge skills are the core requirement for this position, the preferred candidate will also possess significant skills and experience with general data management, and business intelligence and analytics platforms.
The Ounce is a fast-paced organization with a variety of stakeholders. Therefore, this position requires excellent customer service skills and an ability to balance multiple priorities and requests from across the organization. This role will be expected to be outcome-oriented, solution-focused, and able to identify and personally implement process and technology improvements as appropriate.
The best candidates will demonstrate an aptitude for, and history of, strategic thinking, planning & decision-making with respect to fund-raising.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Chief Technology Officer, Matrixes to Assistant Director of Development.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS:
- Works directly with Development, Communications, Research, and State and National Advocacy divisions to capture, curate, maintain and extract detailed data in a timely manner about the Ounce's network of 35,000+ contacts in Raiser's Edge.
- Proactively brings RE best practices and innovations to the Ounce so as to ensure maximum leverage from current and planned RE investments.
- Acts as a strategic thought partner around fundraising, teaming as appropriate with Development leadership to optimize the Ounce's fundraising strategy, tactics and execution.
- Designs, develops and refines integrated data structures that can best meet the needs of multiple Ounce divisions.
- Designs, develops, executes and maintains repeatable and ad-hoc queries and segmentations to support each Division's goals.
- Designs, develops and refines custom Crystal Reports to to enable clear views of RE data output.
- Responsible for data quality and governance within RE, including:
- The identification, removal, resolution and integration of conflicting or duplicate records;
- Maintenance and correction of addresses and salutations;
- All other necessary tasks to ensure integrity of the master data on an ongoing basis.
- Performs repeatable and ad-hoc data imports and exports from multiple data sources, in multiple formats.
- Creates, communicates, and enforces adherence to RE data management policies and procedures.
- Makes RE configuration changes where possible to best support each Division, while ensuring that each Division's requirements do not conflict with or undermine other Divisions' efforts.
- Responsible for building RE awareness, developing and delivering RE training, and driving RE adoption as the Ounce's "system of record" for all stakeholder-facing purposes.
- Coordinates the integration of Raiser's Edge with current and future software packages across the Ounce.
EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS:
- At least four years of deep experience as primary owner, administrator or super-user of a Raiser's Edge database, in a primarily fundraising capacity and environment.
- Detailed knowledge of all RE functions, including Query, Import, Export, Reporting, and Mail
- Experience designing, developing and refining advanced Crystal Reports
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Marketing, or related discipline
- Experience with Blackbaud Sphere or other eMarketing software platforms a plus
