A Letter from the President
Since 1982, the Ounce of Prevention Fund has relentlessly pursued a single goal: that all American children, including those born into poverty, have access to quality early childhood experiences in the crucial first five years of life.
Why? Because the greatest societal obstacles—from school dropout rates, to crime and rising healthcare costs, to our challenges competing in the global marketplace—can be addressed by focusing on the quality of care our children receive from birth to age five.
Every day, the Ounce is demonstrating effective solutions that are putting our most vulnerable children on the path to success in school and in life.
The Ounce can't achieve its vision without the support of the private sector, and an educated public who bring muscle to the movement.
Please consider participating in our efforts in the following ways.
- Attend an Event to learn more about early childhood education and the Ounce's work
- Sign up to receive our Action Alerts and Early Edition e-newsletter
- Advocate for early childhood education with your legislators
- Make a gift to the Ounce
